Faculty and Staff at the Canterbury Children's Center, a private coeducational elementary school in Canterbury NH, serves students in grades 1-3 from Concord NH and central New Hampshire communities including Gilmanton NH, Loudon NH, Hopkinton NH, Bow NH, Boscawen NH, webster NH, penacook nh, canterbury nh, pembroke nh, providing a unique primary school education and fostering practical, artistic and academic skills, enthusiasm for learning, healthy self-awareness, and respect for others.

Our Faculty and Staff

The Canterbury Children’s Center was designed, planned and built by its founders, Judy and Bill Egan in 1980. They continue to share the ongoing teaching and administrative responsibilities at the school. Since their undergraduate work at Keene State College in the late sixties, each has gathered extensive experiences in education spanning forty years.

Judy holds a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the University of NH, and Bill a M.Ed. in Counseling/Psychology from Northeastern University.

Many talented artists, musicians, writers and naturalists are also invited to spend time within the school community. Included is Peggo Hortsmann Hodes who leads the children in ongoing music and movement activities.
